The Ticket Collector

Response and Result from LUL

June 20, 2006 on 10:38 pm | In tube |

I got my supervisor to send a snotty letter to London Underground about my hours wages on Friday. I had a fax via the internal rail telephone system, today from some MD of finance basicly giving me my money back. I havent yet to get the cash, and Im not expecting it soon either.
LUL LetterWas nice of TfL to thank me for my help on that day. I guess this will keep the RMT happy, who I involved yesterday morning basicly to get the ball rolling.

Would be interested to hear about other TOC staff on similar incidents having pay docked.

  1. In answer to your question, yes.

I have the regular pleasure of using “One” from Wickford to get to work, during a recent problem with a broken power supply, I was delayed by an 1.5 hours, and yes, LUL did dock my money.

Let me know if you are ableot gt your pay back from LU, so I can claim mine back from First.

    Have a good day

  2. Not such a good company if your caught up in a ligitimate excuse.

I travel in with Midland Mainline, and if there service ever makes me late I never get docked, so look to your own company first, as they shouldbe more understanding, also I would think your own Supervisor would have used his brain instead of booking you late.

  3. The Great Orme, On that Friday it was a different “standing in” supervisor who everyone hates and I can see why now.
Tube Dude, I had a letter from the CFO of TfL saying im getting the hours pay back plus a bit more. We shall see on Friday if I actually get it.

  4. I hope that First Group learn a lesson from this saga. They have treated one of their employees in a shoddy fashion after helping out in a public-spirited manner under difficult circumstances. Even though it was one particularly bad supervisor who initially docked your pay, surely somebody else within your own company could have reinstated it without involving LUL, and this reflects badly on the company as a whole.

Contrast this with what happened to me a few days ago. An accident on the A406 caused a traffic jam, making myself and at least one other driver miss our pick-ups. Consequently two peak time trains were cancelled. LUL did not give us any hassle or dock our pay as we did nothing wrong.
