The Ticket Collector

Problems at Shepreth on Sunday

September 5, 2006 on 8:22 am | In FCC |

Ok so this post is a bit late and the problem has now been fixed but its a news/blog entry all the same.

One of the switches on the Overheads tripped, and thus this caused the route between Cambridge, Royston and onwards to become blocked. (Due to no power). Several trains were stuck in the section affected and this caused delays later on.

Network Rail managed to fix the Up Line and trains were able to get towards london but not the other way.

Eventully trains were terminated at Letchworth due to the fact it is easier to turn them around. A bus service was put on for passengers to go onwards to Cambridge, Ely and other places.
