No this blog isnt turning into a GNER bitch blog, but things have to be said about their services.
The webmaster and myself were on a service from Leeds in First Class and trying to access the ‘FREE’ WiFi. We were then told it would cost us £2.50 per 30mins for the so called complimentry WiFi service to First Class passengers.
Obviously we didnt pay it and moved to another carriage, but is this another of GNER’s new revenue streams to try and make that £60m franchise payment in the next two weeks?
We shall see.

Meanwhile, we read in today’s “Tabloid Times” that GCR cannot find enough serviceable trainsets to start their service promised for 10 Dec 2006. (Sunderland to Kings X). This would serve a station right by us and be most convenient, but GNER have fought against it tooth and nail - or so the media say.

Grand Central appeared to have no intention of getting up and running this year, having just secured some old trains (not the brand new trains they said they would run) in time for next Spring.
In my opinion, Grand Central appear to have been more interested in securing the paths and building up a company worth buying out. Now it seems they’re forced to run trains after all…

Did you give some consideration to the fact that wifi might not have been working properly?
