The Ticket Collector

It doesnt rain problems but it pours them.

May 23, 2007 on 5:54 pm | In FCC, GNER, Notwork Rail |

Arriving into work today I discovered that London Bridge was closed due to a incident in south bermondsey. Guess what it involved, yep cylinders again, so FCC were diverted via Elephant and Castle.

After yesterdays problems at Stevenage what with points and a failed GNER unit, it seems to be that time of the week again.

To top it all a 365 unit decided to fail just after leaving Hitchin Platform 1, this caused severe delays to all services from Peterborough and Cambridge to London. This train took around 30-45 minutes to be shunted back to Hitchin South sidings.

What happened yesterday? Well there was a power surge in some of the signalling equipment in the Stevenage area. This also caused problems to the points and they would not respond. Furthermore this was compounded by a failed GNER pantograph in the same area.
